The success of an intranet depends crucially on its content. The Bundesbank has developed its intranet over years from a purely business unit platform to the central internal communications medium of the Bank. This is achieved only through targeted agenda setting, intensive advice to the business units and the realization of the articles according strictly to journalistic criteria. We support the business units and help them get their message spread by understanding their requirements as well as the employees’ needs. We see ourselves as connectors. However, not every intended message is suitable to disseminate – as vain chatter does not stand a chance. Real content is often completely underestimated in a fast-click media world. For us this means often acting as consultants for the internal communications unit. Our involvement pays off: Comments on articles, live stream events, videos and podcasts on selected topics ensure extremely high acceptance and a lot of conversation on Bundesbank’s topics among the staff.
