Intranet search optimization is often misunderstood, with many assumptions proving false along the way. What may seem simple at first quickly becomes complex, with challenges like legacy systems, evolving technologies, and the integration of AI. Despite these hurdles, the journey is worthwhile, driven by persistent, incremental improvements. In this presentation, you will learn:
Intranet professional with key focus on Colleague Experience - especially around "findability" - and the endless journey to try and help colleagues "find stuff".
I spent the first part (and biggest chunk) of my career working in Financial Services in a variety of Digital and IT roles - with recent focus on Intranet product ownership/ Knowledge Management. Now working as part of a focussed Intranet/Knowledge Management team at WTW.
I have worked with an extensive variety of systems and technologies requiring an in-depth understanding. From Mainframe/COBOL (a while back...), through Windows Domain/Active Directory and latterly SharePoint. Also, regulatory governance frameworks such as PCI Compliance and GDPR. My ability to convert these into principles understandable to “non technical” colleagues has been key to my successes.
I have a wealth of experience, including;
* Understanding complex business challenges
* Working with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels
* Building teams to address these challenges
* Intranet & Knowledge Management
* Governance requirements and frameworks
* Operational delivery
* Change Management programmes
Community - strong believer in the value of “giving something back” and the positive part that can play for colleagues and have been involved with significant fundraising activities over the past 10 years, being part of teams which raised £200k for various charities
