Garry Rawlins

Modern Workplace Product Owner, Selfridges

Garry has been helping global brands create intranets for engagement, smarter working and collaboration for over 15 years.  He has defined, designed and delivered global multi-lingual multi-channel content management and collaborative working solutions for brands in the UK, Europe, the US and beyond.

Garry has worked with a multitude of well-known organisations including Harrods, Vodafone, Barclays, SABMiller, Diageo, Lloyds Register, Nestle, Rothmans, Times Newspapers, BBC and now Selfridges.  He has a technical background but readily admits to being more comfortable working directly with business professionals and senior stakeholders helping to shape their vision and  understanding the art of the possible for how technology can create value and drive growth.

Garry is a firm believer in taking a 'customer-centric' view to creating the modern intranet ecosystem.  Employees are our 'internal customer' and their 'employee experience' is greatly influenced by the usefulness of the corporate tools they have to use.

Recently Garry has specialised in delivering the social layer of internal communications through Microsoft’s Yammer.  His successes in this often tricky area are based on applying social network theory, understanding motivations for work and drivers for employee voice to foster the conditions that enable employees to build value from two way dialogue.
